I made a hat for my precious lachie the other day and... well... it's a fail. :) But, I thought i'd share it with you all anyway. I used fabric from my favourite new range 'Children at play' by Sarah Jane. It is the most beautiful fabric! :) Here's the hat...

I will also be fixing his hat so that he can wear it. I'm not going to take the whole thing apart but I will cut some of the extra width out and sew it back up. It won't look as good but it will be functional enough. :)

I love that you think this is a fail. I would say 'trial-run' instead. Besides, so much more gifted to be able to do this and fail, than not to try at all

Kerryn, Would a piece of heavy duty elastic sewn into the back at the brim join bring it down to a Lachie size?
ReplyDeleteYes, I was thinking of either doing that or cutting down one of the seams and cutting out some of the excess. Hmmm... will think about it and try and fix it tonight. Will let you know how I go. :)
